Kandice Porter was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, graduating from historic East High School before attending Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning a Liberal Arts Degree in Music.
Kandice realized that her heart and soul belonged in music education after working in corporate America, and began teaching private voice and piano lessons. She also wanted to find a way to share the love of music to families with pre-school aged children, something that she had done while attending college. She has been able to share that love by founding Bonding to the Beat.
Bonding to the Beat is a faith-based music enrichment program for families with children under the age of 5 and for child care facilities. It is Kandice’s heart’s desire to share a musical experience with children during their formative years, where they are able to sing, move, play, learn, and sing about the love of Jesus! Bonding to the Beat brings all of those elements together into one dynamic and fun class experience. Bonding to the Beat brings this unique concept to the Denver area, where there currently aren’t any similar classes available.
Kandice’s passion is to strengthen families and provide them with a wonderful musical experience, where young children are able to develop through music, and caregivers are able to spend much-needed bonding time sharing that experience with them. Bonding to the Beat has also found a calling in community outreach, and has hosted numerous community events, including:
Welcome Fall Family Bonding Night
Musical story time with breakfast
A musical costume party
Thanksgiving food drive
An adult music class
An annual Community Baby Shower for 3 consecutive years
Kandice married her high school sweetheart and together they have 4 beautiful children including a set of twins!
